What is Faith?

Now Faith is the substance of things of hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

Sounds like sience huh? The substance and the evidence.

If you will look up faith in the Strongs Dictionary you will find that faith is equal to truth, to stability, to trustworthy, and so on.

Faith just sits back and enjoys the ride. You can see that in several stories in the bible. It is trusting in… God. In the bible faith is always directed towards God. You can have several kinds of faith. You have fath in people, things, emotions and other, but the only one who is whitout change and you can trust all the time is God. If the bible would say; “Have faith”, then it actually says: “Trust God” “Don’t worry”. When Jesus said; “Ye of little faith”, He actually said; “You, who don’t trust God”.

When you want to have faith in God, you have to build a relationship with God and trust every word He speaks. You can’t doubt any word He says. It starts with the choice to trust. It is not build on feelings/emotions/situations/people/community and lot’s of others stuff that you might encounter. It is based on what God says. Things might not look the way you expect or people don’t think you are of sound mind, but faith will take you to levels you’ve never been and will make you strong.

The bible tells us in Hebrews 11:6 that you can’t please God without faith. It is impossible to please God if you do not trust Him. It means putting your life down and let Him take control. It is full of peace although storms might come your way.

So what is faith? It is trusting God all in all. You do not question Him, but just trust Him.
