So then faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17)
Jesus once said that what proceeds out of the mouth comes forth from the heart (Marc. 7:21). And in proverbs 18:21 you can read that death and life are in the power of the tongue and that they who love it will it the fruit thereof.
These things tells us something about what we have to put into our mouths, doesn’t it? We have to make sure that we put the right thing in our hearts so the right words will proceed out of our mouth.
I remember the children of my sister say; “When you’re sick you have to go to the doctor”. This is what children are teached in kindergarten. That is our culture, that is how most of us grew up. When you are sick you gotta see a doctor or when needed you go to the hospital. But how do you apply Gods word to this? Where does it fit? Why aren’t the children teached to trust the Word of God and apply that in their lives. It works.
Depending on the words you hear your mouth will speak and will effect every area of your life. Paul writes to the Church in Rome that Faith (trusting in God) comes by hearing the word of God. But if you want to see that faith active in your life you have to accept that the Word of God as the final Word spoken. Not just some opinion written down by someone who thinks differently then you do. You have to know that the Word of God is true and that nothing can shake it.
When you allow people to talk garbage in your life you will also allow it to settle in your heart and in time of need garbage will come out. It will efect the way you live.
As for example; you might be sick. What do you know? After that, what do you do? If you live by what you know you will reap the fruit thereof. In my case that would be; 1 Peter 2:24=by His stripes I’m healed, Psalm 119= When you stay in the Lords presence and do as He says no sickeness will even come near your tent, Psalm 23= Even when I go to the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil because God is with me.
The devil came to destroy, steal and to kill. Jesus came to give life in abundance, not just getting by. In every area of your life He wants you to prosper. In your soul in the first place, but also in your finances, health, relationsships, marriage and other. Knowing what God says, knowing that is the truth and living by it will change your life for the better.
