But if you fear to go down, go then with Phurah your servant to the host: and you shall hear what they say; and afterward shall your hand be strengthened to go down unto the host. Judges 7:10-11
Israël was facing the Midianites and the Amalekites and they were outnumbered by the thousands. God told Israël to prepare and choose 300 man to overtake the enemy.
When you think about it, it doesn’t sound really encouraging does it? 300 against thousands. But God didn’t just send them there to die. He didn’t send them there without encouraging them. He told Gideon to go with his servant and listen to the enemy.
One of the people in the enemy camp had a dream saying that the Midianites and the Amalekites will be given in the hand of Gideon. Gideon and his servant had just heard that there will be victory and not defeat, no matter the count of people that were against them.
God had strengtened him. He encouraged Him. He didn’t start with a defeat story. He didn’t start with; “You might have to take chances”. No, God only starts a war of victory.
But as you can see in the story. It is not build on human strength or on our way of thinking. It is God who will guide us. We walk in obedience? There will be victory
